Rose’s ghost frog or Table Mountain ghost frog (Heleophryne rosei) is a member of the family Heleophrynidae, the ghost frog family. It is native to South Africa.
The females of the species grow to about 2.4 inches long while the males are smaller. Both sexes contain asperities, spiny structures that allow better grip during amplexus. The adults are usually green with purple and brown splotches.
The Rose’s ghost frog lives in a small area in South Africa. It is currently a protected land but the planting of non-native trees are drying up their breeding area.
